Local news site Lebtown.com has the details on the Hershey’s expansion, Hershey Co. plans million square foot South Annville Township warehouse, “The Hershey Company plans to build a massive warehouse and packaging center south of Route 422 between Annville and Palmyra in South Annville Township. Construction could start as early as this month…“This plot is located on Killinger Road and abuts the east side of Killinger Creek and the north side of Killinger Road,” said Township manager Don Umberger in a July 1 email. “The facility will serve as a warehouse and packaging center. The original structure will encompass more than 800,000 square feet and at build out will be over 1,000,000 square feet.””

This million square feet warehouse is just one of several recent expansions for Hershey’s. According to a recent article in PennLive.com, Hershey Co. to build facility in South Annville Township: What we know, “In recent years, Hershey has expanded its portfolio with such acquisitions as SkinnyPop-parent Amplify in hopes of grabbing a bigger bite out of the snack food industry. In 2012, it expanded the West Hershey plant where it produces Hershey’s Kisses, Hershey’s chocolate (with and without almonds), Rolo and Hershey’s syrup.”
